Although most people know me as an anthropologist or blogger, I’m also active in the Jewish community here in Honolulu. A while ago I gave a drash in which I drew on the work of Edward Sapir. Alex Golub is an associate professor of anthropology at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. He is a political anthropologist who studies kinship, customary land tenure, and the mining and petroleum industry in Papua New Guinea.
