More on Matisyahu
by Alex
I’ll be spending the next couple of days blogging about the Solomon Islands but I thought I’d post a link to a longish “piece on Matisyahu”:http://www.nextbook.org/cultural/feature.html?id=225 over at “Nextbook.org”:http://www.nextbook.org/ which sounds like an excellent arts and culture website for 30-something reformed Jewish intellectuals, if 30-something reformed Jewish intellectuals like me had time to read all that stuff. Honestly, as a professor the last thing I want to do after a long day of reading is _read_. But it seems like it might be up your alley.
Alex,
Nextbook has a really good podcast, if you can spare 10 minutes of non-reading time avery few weeks or so. Past topics have included Tiffany Shlain’s meditation on Barbie and Jewishness, _The Tribe_, Italian Jewish music traditions, and their current topic, modern Ladino literature. It’s good stuff.
Seems like I just left a comment, but…
Maybe I screwed up. Anyway, whatever happened, I wasnt to point out that Nextbook has a great, somewhat sporadic, podcast, if you can spare 10 minutes of non-reading time every few weeks or so. Topics have included Tiffany Slain’s film _The Tribe_, modern Ladino literature, the Yiddish worker’s movement in the US
D — the Fascist Spam Blocker take a while to authenticate your comments. Hence the gap between posting and it showing up. Since I’m now singing like 6 hours a week my audio time is pretty busy as well. Someday I’ll have time… someday… someday…
Damn fascists!
